Merry Christmas from us to you

Merry Christmas from us to you

We’d like to wish all our oil and LPG customers a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. Thank you for your valued custom throughout 2024 and for being part of our success - we couldn’t have done it without you!

We'll be taking a short break over the festive period but only for a few days. We’ll hang up our stockings on Christmas Eve to enjoy a well-earned festive break – we’re closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Apart from these days, rest assured we’ll be hard at work and here for you when you need us.

As we reflect on 2024 and take a minute to look back, we’re also excited about what’s to come in 2025. So here we look at a few of the highs over these last 12 months, as well as reflecting on some sad times too.

A sad farewell

It’s true to say that whilst it’s been a year with many highs, it got off to a very sad start. Early in 2024, we said goodbye to our dear friend and colleague, Emma, who sadly lost her battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer which she fought with strength and courage. Emma was a warm and loving person and a big part of the Northern Energy family. She’d been an account manager here for some years, and was much loved by customers and colleagues alike. As we reflect on the last year, Emma is never far from our thoughts and is greatly missed by us all.

An award-winning moment!

In March, as one big family, we were delighted to be nominated for the category of Best Employer in the 2024 Stray Ferret Business Awards, and it was a very memorable moment when our Managing Director, Stuart, was presented with the award, sponsored by Jones Myers Family Law. Emma’s brother, Justin, who’d nominated us, was present at the award ceremony which was held at The Pavilions of Harrogate.

Feefo award winners too!

For the second year running, we were absolutely delighted to win the prestigious Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award. It was fantastic to have been recognised for all our hard work and our commitment to our customers.

Winning this award is all down to our customers and the many 5-star reviews they give us – so a big thank you to all our valued customers who have given us such lovely feedback.

Going from strength to strength

This year has seen us grow and expand our LPG delivery service into new areas – exciting times!  We’ve grown to supply fuel across the country – this year, we’ve ventured further south and now deliver LPG throughout Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Reading. And our team has grown too – which means we continue to provide our customers with a positive and satisfying experience from start to finish. That’s because without them we wouldn’t be doing what we do. When we say we go the extra mile, we mean it, and that’s because we truly C.A.R.E.

Supporting great causes throughout 2024

As a family-run supplier, we understand the important role we play in local communities, and over the years, we’ve supported and invested in the well-being of these communities and in many great causes too whilst having lots of fun.

Some of the charities we’ve supported include the Children’s Ward at Harrogate Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis, Lollipop, and St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate.

Each year, we hold our annual golf day which always proves to be a popular and fun occasion with a day of golf followed by a dinner and fundraising, including a raffle and silent auction. This year's golf day which was again held at Oakdale Golf Club in Harrogate once again proved to be a great success - we raised a whopping £10,290, and this year’s charity was Neuroendocrine Cancer UK, which was chosen in memory of Emma. A big thank you to Oakdale Golf Club for hosting the event and to everyone that played, and helped us raise so much money for such a great cause.

We work hard – and play hard too!

In October, we had a day of fun and laughter at our Macmillan coffee morning with some amazing fancy dress costumes and tasty baking, and a quiz – just one of the fundraising events we’ve held at our Head Office near Harrogate this year.

A new arrival

As we round off 2024, we finish with the lovely news that there's been a new addition to the Northern Energy family this month. Congratulations to our Sales and Customer Experience Director, Ted, and his wife Beth on the safe arrival of their latest family member.

So that just leaves us to wish all our customers a very merry Christmas and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2025!
