At Northern Energy we're committed to doing what's right for the environment as well as our customers. Which is why we're excited about the new renewable gas options that we'll be able to offer soon. There are two on the horizon, one is BioLPG, the other rDME (renewable dimethyl ether). Both are what's called 'drop in' solutions as they work with your existing boiler and let you heat your home while being greener.
Be greener with BioLPG
Rethink heating with rDME
The timeline to achieving Net Zero:
There are a few different ways that BioLPG can be made using different types of technology and a variety of thermal or chemical processes.
This means that BioLPG can be produced not just as a primary source, but also a secondary one alongside other Bioenergies. Thanks to this a range of different ways of producing it...
There are a few different ways that BioLPG can be made using different types of technology and a variety of thermal or chemical processes.
This means that BioLPG can be produced not just as a primary source, but also a secondary one alongside other Bioenergies. Thanks to this a range of different ways of producing it are being explored and invested in.
rDME is made using a variety of renewable feedstocks such as waste from pulp and paper mills, forest products, agricultural residues, manure and municipal waste. It can be produced in two different ways. One is through a process called methanol dehydration, the other is directly from synthesis gas produced via thermal gasification.
