Due to our continued success and recent expansion, we’re looking to recruit an organised, proactive and customer-focused Engineering Administrator to join our successful, stable and growing family-run company.
This is a full-time role within our friendly LPG Engineering Team at Northern Energy, working 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role will initially be based at our Head Office in Hampsthwaite, before moving to our new depot at Boroughbridge in 2027.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a real team player, have excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach. You’ll have the ability to take ownership of a task and see it through from start to finish.
This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be at the heart of our LPG Engineering Team, helping to coordinate everything from new tank installations and tank testing to maintenance work and tank uplifts.
You’ll work closely with our Engineering Manager, fellow administrators, engineers and external contractors, making sure jobs are carefully planned, customers know what to expect and our engineers have everything they need to get the job done.
Our Engineering Team is busy, and priorities can sometimes change at short notice, so we’re looking for someone who is organised, adapatable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LPG professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge, solving technical challenges and supporting colleagues. We believe attitude is just as important as experience, and we’re looking for someone who is approachable, collaborative and genuinely passionate about helping others.
This is a newly created specialist role within the business, where you’ll become Northern Energy’s technical expert on LPG installations and systems. Working closely with our Sales, Customer Service and Engineering teams, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of LPG installation projects, helping colleagues and customers find safe, compliant, and practical solutions.
Significant experience within the LPG industry is essential, including experience of LPG tank installations, maintenance and associated systems. The successful candidate will hold relevant current LPG qualifications and competencies, and be able to draw upon their own experience and technical knowledge to advise on situations where the answer may not always be straightforward.
The role can be predominantly home-based, although regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK will form part of the position, and you’ll be expected to attend the office periodically when required. This is a permanent r ole, and we’re happy to consider both full-time and part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated LPG Tank Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Reading, covering installations across Reading, Bristol and Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high standards and enjoys working as part of a professional team. You’ll primarily cover installations and engineering work throughout the South West, including Bristol and Exeter, with one overnight stay per week potentially required.
Working as part of our LPG Engineering Team, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, relocation and removal of LPG tanks and associated equipment.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience installing LPG tanks, a strong knowledge of Gas Safety regulations, excellent attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressures, and a positive, team-focused approach. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
A full UK driving licence is required, along with valid LPG qualifications (CCLP1, VESLP1, VESLP2, EFJLP1, TPCP1 and MET1). An HGV licence, HIAB crane experience, experience with liquid LPG installations, and experience carrying out 10-year and 20-year tank testing would be advantageous.
