Joe’s Spine MRT Challenge

Our LPG delivery driver Joe Parsons is a volunteer for the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association

Joe is pictured centre with fellow volunteers David and Matt.

The association provides fell and cave rescue services to help people and animals in difficulty.

There's no government funding available for Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and annual running costs are in excess of £50,000. The service remains free to the public.

Montane Spine Challenger

The guys will be raising money by doing the Montane® Spine® Challenger which is a non-stop, 108 mile race between Edale and Hardraw* with a time limit of 60hrs. The team provides a terrific service to people who get into difficulty in caves, on the fells and in the waterways. They are requested by partnership agencies to assist them in searching for (and in some cases) evacuating them from precarious positions. David said "We have done quite a bit of running over the years and we thought a 110 mile run in January might just get folk to dig deep and sponsor us. Check out the Spine Race web page for details of the event where there's a live tracker available from 0900 Sat 12th Jan." To help sponsor Joe and the guys, please visit Just Giving.
