Energy providers hit the headlines

A long cold winter stretched the delivery capabilities of some energy providers. The LPG industry was faced with its own set of challenges. Britain was hit by Storm Emma in late February, swiftly followed by strong Siberian winds nicknamed “The Beast from the East”. Having stocked up on their usual amount of fuel, this caught many LPG customers off guard. Focus then turned back to the energy providers to help solve the problem...   It’s only when something goes wrong with a product or a service that you see the quality of a company’s customer service. We are very proud of our success in this area. In the last 6 months, less than 1% of our customers ran out, and those that did received a delivery the same or the next day. Within our delivery area we experienced towering snow drifts and biting cold temperatures, the lowest temperature being -11.0 °C at Bewcastle, Cumbria. We rose to the challenge of meeting our customers’ orders (and expectations) despite the treacherous conditions throughout winter.

As a family – run company, we take the responsibility of keeping our customers warm and safe very seriously. Because of the close relationships we have with many of our customers, we understand just how vulnerable some people can be, and a cold house can be dangerous. Our Managing Director Howard Illingworth and three sons (usually confined to the office) have been out delivering over the winter / Easter period to meet with the high demand of orders. Many of our rural customers can be hard to reach during snowy conditions. Our drivers fell back on their years of driving experience to navigate their tankers through snow, ice, floods and high winds. Buying your LPG from us not only ensures you get a competitive price, punctual service from a friendly face, but as we’ve seen over winter, when the going gets tough, the tough get going!
