As you’ll probably already know, we’re proud to be celebrating the 90th anniversary of Northern Energy this year. Whilst we’ve constantly evolved over the last 90 years to meet the changing needs of our customers, we’re proud to still be family run, with the same strong principles that the business was built on. Because, no matter what changes and improvements come along, our focus is always on maintaining our traditional values which define who we are and how we act. It’s all about putting our customers first with a level of service that goes above and beyond, and going that extra mile when delivering their oil or LPG!
We’re now delighted to announce the exciting news that Northern Energy has recently acquired Kettlewell Fuels as part of our strategic plan to expand. Like Northern Energy, Kettlewell Fuels is independent and family-run, and supplies domestic heating oil, as well as agricultural and commercial oil, championing quality service and reliable deliveries.
Kettlewell Fuels was established in 1987 and managed by husband and wife team, Trevor and Janet Kettlewell, since 1996. We know the business has been a central part of their lives for many years. Janet has said ‘We wanted to make sure the new owners have similar values to ours, a company that will continue our commitment to our customers. And we’ve found just the team!’
And we agree – we strongly believe that Northern Energy and Kettlewell Fuels are the perfect fit and joining the two companies together will bring only positive changes moving forward.
All of us at Northern Energy would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Trevor and Janet on their well-earned retirement and to wish them both a long, happy and fulfilling future.
Whilst extending a very warm welcome to the Kettlewell Fuels team, our Managing Director, Stuart Illingworth, has confirmed that there are no plans to change what is already an exceptionally successful business. The company will remain exactly as it is and operate from their existing site in Melmerby, with the same delivery and customer service teams who will continue to provide the quality service that Janet, Trevor and their fantastic team have done over the years.
This is an exciting time for both Northern Energy and Kettlewell Fuels. Stuart, who is part of the fourth generation that runs the family business along with his brothers James and Ted, said 'We are thrilled to be joining forces with Kettlewell Fuels, a business that has been built on strong family values like our own. With the existing team we will continue to deliver the same unbeatable service to which Kettlewell Fuels’ customers have become accustomed. Together, the future looks very exciting.'
There will be little if any change for Northern Energy customers too – our commitment to the way we supply fuel to our customers is stronger than ever!
