Sadly we lost our friend and colleague Karen last year to her brave battle with cancer.
We felt it important to remember Karen and show our respects. After some debate we felt that the day should reflect Karen's fun-loving personality and settled on 'Simply Red Day'.
Karen passionately followed her favourite band Simply Red, and saw them perform many times. Simply Red was even played out at Karen's funeral.

The Simply Red theme was carried through by members of the Northern Energy team wearing something red, indulging in some of the red baking treats and hanging out in the decorated kitchen area.
We sold cakes, cacti and a one night stay for two donated by Oulton Hall in Leeds.
Together, in Karen's memory we raised £204 for Macmillan's Cancer Research.
