Environmental Policy

Delivering a Better Tomorrow

At Northern Energy, we recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment and that we have a responsibility to minimise that impact wherever possible. Like our customers, employees and suppliers, we care about the world around us. We are committed to being environmentally responsible in every part of our business and continually seek new and better ways to improve our environmental performance. As a business specialising in the delivery of bulk LPG, we aim to operate responsibly, reduce our environmental footprint and support the transition towards a more sustainable future.

We acknowledge that our operations affect the environment and have identified the following key areas where our activities can have an impact:

  • Energy consumption, including electricity, fuel and heating
  • Vehicle and transport emissions
  • Waste generation and disposal
  • Use of water
  • Paper usage and general office activities

Environmental responsibility is actively supported by our Management Team, who regularly review performance against our environmental objectives and provide the resources necessary to achieve continual improvement. By embedding sustainable practices throughout our organisation, we aim to reduce our environmental impact while delivering excellent service to our customers.

Our Environmental Commitments

Our commitment to environmental responsibility is demonstrated through the following objectives:

  • Comply with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations and other relevant requirements
  • Monitor and review our environmental performance on a regular basis
  • Reduce energy consumption through efficient operations and investment in energy-saving technologies where appropriate
  • Reduce waste generation and maximise opportunities to reuse and recycle materials
  • Encourage sustainable purchasing practices and work with suppliers who share our environmental values
  • Promote responsible use of water throughout the business
  • Increase environmental awareness through employee communication, training and engagement
  • Set measurable environmental objectives and targets that support continual improvement

Implementation

To achieve these commitments, we will:

  • Measure and monitor significant environmental impacts arising from our activities
  • Review environmental performance as part of our management review process
  • Consider environmental impacts when making business decisions
  • Encourage employees to identify opportunities for environmental improvement
  • Maintain procedures and controls to prevent pollution and minimise waste
  • Communicate this policy to all employees and provide appropriate environmental awareness training

Responsibility

Environmental responsibility is shared by everyone within Northern Energy. The Managing Director retains overall responsibility for this policy and its effectiveness, whilst The Green Team representatives have responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of environmental initiatives and objectives.

Communication and Review

This policy will be made available to employees, customers, suppliers and other interested parties upon request and, where appropriate, published on our website. We will review this policy annually, or sooner where significant business or legislative changes occur, to ensure it remains relevant, effective and aligned with our environmental objectives.
