The good news is that LPG is virtually impossible to steal. It is stored under pressure in robust, purpose-built bulk LPG storage tanks, and once released from its controlled environment, it rapidly vapourises into gas.
That said, there are a few simple steps you can take to help protect your tank. Positioning is key. Where possible, tanks should be installed in a well-lit, visible area to discourage unwanted attention. Good boundary fencing, in line with required safety distances, can also help restrict access to your property.
Keeping the area around the tank clear, tidy, and free from obstructions makes it easier to spot anything unusual. Some LPG users also choose to install additional security measures such as motion-sensor lighting or CCTV for extra peace of mind.
If you notice any damage, interference, or suspicious activity around your tank, report it immediately to your LPG supplier.
