  • How do I switch supplier?

    Switching LPG supplier is quick and easy as we’ll do everything for you if you choose Northern Energy as your fuel supplier – the whole process is seamless and you can just sit back, relax, and leave it to us. You most likely won’t even need to change your LPG storage tank.

    All you need to do is check that you’ve come to the end of your contract with your current supplier. Don’t worry if you’re in an exclusivity contract as it can now only run for a maximum of two years. Also, if you find you’re still stuck in a contract, just let us know when it ends and we’ll get in touch nearer the time

    Here’s how to switch to Northern Energy:

    1. Get a quote by calling us or applying online

    3. We’ll tell you when the switch is done
    4. Sit back and wait for you LPG refill. It’s that simple!
  • What are the biggest advantages of using LPG?

    It’s efficient – LPG has a high calorific value, so it produces more heat per unit when compared to some other fuels.

    LPG is cost-effective, and cheaper currently than other fuels such as heating oil.

    It’s versatile – it can be used to heat your home, to provide hot water, to run your appliances, and is great for cooking, providing instant, controllable heat.

    LPG contains no sulphur and is clean burning – compared to other fuels such as heating oil or coal, it emits less CO2 and fewer pollutants such as soot. And the good news is that renewable gases are coming soon which are drop-in solutions that can be used in existing LPG systems. So no costly retrofits are required as when changing to other fuel sources such as heat pumps.

  • How much does it cost to install an LPG heating system?

    The cost to install an LPG system can vary significantly and will depend on the size of your home and the size and type of LPG boiler you choose. Generally, the bigger your home, the bigger your boiler will need to be.

    On average, as a rough guide only, you can expect to pay from £4,000 upwards, and you should always have your LPG system installed by a GAS SAFE registered engineer.

  • How can I pay for my LPG?

    Choose from a variety of ways to pay – whichever makes life easiest for you. 

    • By direct debit

    You can make life easy by paying for your LPG by Direct Debit.  Available to all LPG Package* customers you can either make a one-off payment for each delivery or spread the cost over interest-free monthly instalments. Plus you can enjoy VAT paid deliveries, our automatic refilling service and emergency boiler breakdown cover.

    • By Debit Card

    You can pay for your LPG by debit card over the phone with no extra charge for doing so. Please call our accounts department on 01423 770 170 to make your payment.

    • By Cheque

    We’re happy to receive your payment by cheque but please make sure that you write your Northern Energy account number on the back.

  • Will your LPG tankers be able to deliver to my home?

    We always take into consideration where you live and your individual needs. Rest assured our tankers are maneuverable and are driven by our own highly experienced LPG drivers.  We only use our own delivery drivers – no agency drivers for us – and they’re local so they know the area well and can work out the very best way to get to you with your LPG refill no matter how remote the location of your property.     We can and do deliver LPG pretty much anywhere within our delivery area, and just as important as the location of your property is the location of your LPG storage tank.  Whether an above or underground LPG tank we can reach the most out-of-the-way tanks with flexible, specially designed 160 ft hoses.  With our many years of experience delivering to remote properties, you really can put your trust in us.
