  • What is Carbon Offsetting?

    It’s helping lower carbon emissions by a measurable and verifiable amount by funding sustainable projects around the world which either reduce carbon dioxide or absorb it.

  • How do I know carbon is being offset?

    We’re working in partnership with Carbon Footprint Ltd. They are certified under the Quality Assurance Standard (QAS) and originally set up by the UK Government. Now run as an independent not-for-profit organisation, they are independently audited to a rigorous 40-point plan annually.

  • How much does it cost me?

    This is the great thing about carbon offsetting with Northern Energy. We are not charging customers we supply with Premium Heating Oil or LPG anything extra. It’s all part of the service.

  • What projects will be funded?

    We will support a range of different sustainable projects on your behalf. These include tree planting, wind farms and carbon-reducing initiatives in communities around the world which also deliver economic, social, and health benefits.
