Caring For Your Tank
It is important to take care of your tank - it helps to reduce your costs and is important for the environment. A small quantity of oil can cause a lot of damage to the environment and threaten human life and wildlife.
How to care for your tank
- Your tank should be inspected regularly and checked for corrosion, damage, interference and for signs of leaks - if your tank is a metal one, remember that they can rust from the inside as well as the outside. This would be carried out as part of your Annual Boiler Service
- Ensure all lids remain firmly closed to prevent water from getting into your tank
- Make sure that your tank is easily accessible for our drivers, cutting back or removing any branches that may obstruct delivery and cause damage to your tank. Remove any obstacles which could cause spillages.
- Consider changing to a plastic tank
- Never try to replace the tank yourself
Strict standards regarding oil storage are enforced by the Environment Agency throughout England. The Environment Agency offers advice on looking after oil in the home and on storage, and for further information, please visit...
