FAQ
How large are your tankers?
We have both 4 and 6 wheeler tankers in our fleet and can deliver a large range of fuels and volumes to virtually any location.
How far do the hoses reach?
Up to 170 feet, dependent on the individual vehicle.
Do I need to be at home when you deliver my oil?
No, as long as our drivers can gain access to your tank. Should you need to leave a gate open, or know when your delivery is coming, our sales team can arrange to call you the afternoon before.
What is the standard of your oil?
All our products are refined to the highest British Standards, offering the best possible performance and economy - the British Standard specification for sulphur content in domestic heating oil is 0.05%. All refineries work to this specification, but in practice the sulphur content is often as little as 0.01%.
How much notice is required for delivery?
We usually require up to 3 working days in which to process your order and deliver your fuel. However, if we can accommodate a specific date we will endeavour to do that where possible.
How do I pay for my fuel?
We offer a range of payment options to ensure that there is something that will suit everyone to make things as simple as possible. To find out more, go to our Payment Options page.
I've just moved into a property which uses oil, something I have no experience of. How will I know how much fuel I will require and what my annual running costs will be?
By informing us of the size and approximate age of your home we will be able to provide you with an approximate annual usage based on the country’s average. Please call our sales team and they will be happy to provide you with this information.
Do I need additive for my Aga?
No, all our products are refined to the highest British Standards, offering the best performance and economy. No additive is needed for Agas or Rayburns.
I have just received my invoice and there is a surcharge of 10 pence per litre. What is this for?
The 10 pence per litre surcharge only applies to payments outside the normal payment terms (i.e. late payments). This surcharge appears on your invoice (not for direct debit customers) and subject to the bill being paid within the required period, it is to be deducted from the total sum due if paid on time.
How can I tell how much my tank holds?
To calculate how much your tank holds you need to measure the length, width and height of your metal tank in feet and then multiply these 3 figures together. Then take the total and multiply by 6.25 to give the cubic capacity in gallons. To convert this figure to litres, multiply by 4.54.
For example,
length 4ft x width 5 ft x height 4 ft, multiplied together = 80.
Multiply by 6.25 = 500 gallons.
To convert to litres, multiply 500 gallons x 4.54 = 2270 litre capacity tank.
Do you service boilers?
Yes. A fully qualified OFTEC/Gas Safe registered engineer will carry out the work. Visit our Boiler Servicing page for further details.
Do you provide replacement oil tanks?
If you choose the rental option, this would be for supply of the tank only. The responsibility of the installation costs would be yours, but again we are able to help you find a qualified engineer.
The rental option also provides you with the peace of mind that you will not run out of heating oil as your account will be on the Automatic Refill Scheme, and spread the cost of your fuel throughout the year by making monthly interest free payments.
