Most petrol cars can be converted to run on autogas, although it is usual to have your car bi-fuel so it can run on petrol also if required. Conversion is now relatively simple as the technology advances.
The benefits of a car running on Autogas...
- Autogas is cheaper than petrol and diesel, cutting running costs by as much as half.
- Autogas is safer then other fuels to transport and store – autogas evaporates quickly, so in the unfortunate event of a spill, there is no risk to ground or water pollution.
- According to research in Europe, autogas vehicles emit 20% less carbon dioxide than their petrol counterparts. Carbon dioxide is a clear contributor to poor air quality and global warming, and as we are all increasingly aware of our carbon footprint, autogas is an excellent alternative.
- Performance is comparable to petrol vehicles. However, vehicles running on autogas are quieter than diesel engines, keeping down sound pollution.
