Northern Energy is nestled on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, and serves the large communities of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas with Oil, LP Gas and Autogas. We also deliver to Durham and Teeside with LP Gas & Autogas. In addition we offer various services, which compliment our business area.
Established in 1932 by Ralph Robinson, the grandfather of our current managing director, Howard Illingworth, the company originally began collecting milk from the dales farmers and supplying coal to the local community.
In 1957, we made the natural move to supply oil to the same market and the business dramatically increased in size. From these small beginnings, we are now amongst the largest independent suppliers of oil, supplying domestic, agricultural and commercial customers in the north of England.
In 1979, we began selling LP Gas cylinders. Although we no longer supply cylinders, we now specialise in bulk LP Gas and have progressed to being one of the largest suppliers in the area.
In 2001, to help with the promotion of Autogas in the area, we took over the management of New Park Garage, in Harrogate. We supply many of the garages in the north of England.
